Barbara Ehrenreich talks socialism on WNYC.

Author and Nation contributor Barbara Ehrenreich sat down with WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show for an in-depth interview about her cover story for The Nation, Reimagining Socialism. (Co-authored by Bill Fletcher.) In a lively discussion featuring calls from listeners and questions from online commenters, Ehrenreich touched on the state of socialism today and President Obama’s performance in his first weeks in office. Nation Washington Editor discusses Rove’s “Show Trial”

The Nation’s Washington D.C. Editor Chris Hayes appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Wednesday, March 5th, to talk about Karl Rove’s imminent deposition with the House Judiciary Committee which concerns, among other things, the firing of seven US attorneys in 2006. Hayes called Rove’s situation a “watered down version” compared to what could (and should) happen and noted that US presidents have a history of expanding executive privilege. Hayes and Olbermann go out on a Limbaugh

The Nation’s Washington Editor Chris Hayes appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann Monday night, March 2nd, to discuss the teleprompter-impaired Rush Limbaugh’s desire to see Obama fail, another step on GOP’s path to economic nihilism which involves lots of political crashing and burning. On the bright side Olbermann noted, “It sure makes it easier to analyze things if you want everything to blow up.”

Here is his segment on ESPN, where he argued that escalating salaries for coaches, such as University of Connecticut head basketball coach Jim Calhoun, are getting out of control, especially given the economic pain in the country.

Blogs laud Nation Editor’s appearance on ABC

The blogosphere lauded Nation Editor and Publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel’s appearance on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos (video below). GotchaMedia said the big highlight of the Sunday morning shows was former Bush strategist Karl Rove “getting served” by vanden Heuvel. Crooks and Liars called it “a smackdown.”  Talking Points Memo said she “made mincemeat” of Rove, while Media Matters called out Rove for distorting President Obama’s top economic advisers and their projections on the federal budget.
